A global payments platform, designed end to end and shipped across multiple countries and languages. Built on a modular architecture, and organized around what customers came to do rather than how the company was structured.
When Vantiv and Worldpay merged, the combined company had to serve both merchants and the marketplace at global scale, overnight. Its digital presence had not caught up. A merchant, a bank, a partner, and a developer could each land on the same brand and meet a different, often contradictory, experience. The task was less a redesign than a reconciliation: to make one newly combined company feel like one.
Designed the full platform alongside UX and strategy, from the homepage and segment journeys to the insights hub and the component system that would let it scale into new markets without fragmenting again. The guiding principle was simple to say and hard to hold: every page should serve the person arriving with a job to do, not the organization trying to describe itself. That principle is what shaped the navigation decision at the heart of the project.
The launch, in the product's own words. Watch how the shipped site leads with business type and audience-specific solution suites, the outside-in principle, made real.
To drive customer-centricity, products are organized into audience-specific solution suites matched to five key business goals.
Structure and hierarchy that hold from desktop to phone.
The same content, structured two ways.
Beneath the design sat the harder question: how should the site be organized at all?
Two navigation models were built and tested. Inside-out, around Worldpay's own business units. Outside-in, around what the visitor came to do. Users chose. Outside-in won, and shaped the final design.
