Food Network envisioned creating a culinary community platform built on a timeless restaurant concept: the black plate. In the finest kitchens, a black plate signifies a dish being delivered to a special guest of the house, representing exclusivity, respect, and the best that a restaurant and meal have to offer. Translated this exclusive dining tradition into a modern membership experience through website design and platform concept.

The platform enabled diners to discover and reserve tables at premium restaurants while providing restaurants with marketing efficiencies and direct customer connections, with restaurant customization for internal use and special promotions. The vision positioned Black Plate Society as the golden standard for upscale dining and an integral part of the complete dining experience.
