JEREMY's writing:
Novo Nordisk's new drug, Saxenda, targeted hormones that make it difficult to lose weight and keep it off. But, before they could launch the drug, they needed to educate everyone on the new science of weight management.

The TrueWeight History Assessment tool helps people explore their relationship with weight over time. An intuitive user interface coupled with contemporary illustration and design make it easy to use. Upon conclusion, users receive a personalized report they can bring to their next doctor’s appointment to make the dieting discussion go much more smoothly.

New studies suggest that the reason it’s so difficult to lose weight and keep it off has more to do with certain hormones in your body than with your psychological makeup. Novo Nordisk told this story to patients who have struggled for years with weight management. A deceptively simple two page tiled design contains a wealth of information, including a BMI calculator, testimonial videos, a personal weight assessment tool, questions to ask your physician and a doctor finder tool—allowing patients to find medical specialists in their area.

Award entry:
To help the chronically overweight gain a new perspective on their struggles, we developed the TrueWeight History Assessment as part of an unbranded pre-launch campaign for Saxenda, a new Novo Nordisk weight loss drug.

Using drag & drop illustrations, people record when they’ve gained or lost weight over time and indicate various methods they’ve used to lose weight. Once completed, the tool displays a personalized report that reveals patterns in the user’s decades-long battle — and spotlights the best strategies to replicate going forward.

The report aims to make difficult doctor/patient talks more productive by suggesting questions people can ask as thought starters, with the goal of enabling patients to co-develop a treatment plan to finally help them take control of their health.
