Pharmaceutical websites are a sea of sameness, each touting the same pipelines, discoveries, and clinical milestones. For a small company like Sunovion, competing with giants for partners, talent, and attention, that sameness was the real problem. The task was to help a small player stand out and get credit for the work it does against some of the world's most debilitating mental health and respiratory conditions.
The search was for a single insight that would set Sunovion apart, and it came from the discovery interviews themselves. The more time spent with employees, the clearer it became that the differentiator was the people sitting across the table. So the site was built around them. Rather than another clinical corporate presence, the experience led with Sunovion's own people, telling the company's story through text and documentary-style video, letting visitors hear directly from the researchers, clinicians, and staff about why the work matters.
Six audiences arrived with different needs, doctors, patients, investors, partners, media, and future employees, so each was given its own mapped journey through the same warm, human experience. A modular, mobile-first system held it together and kept it scalable.
The people of Sunovion, in their own words. Not just about the pill, as one put it, but about the patient.

The heart of the site: real employees, in their own words, on why the work matters.

Career paths told through clear infographics, with the third-party HR system integrated so applying felt seamless.

Community work reframed as patient advocacy, the company walking, running, and riding for the people it serves, so its responsibility felt less corporate and more human.

Telling Sunovion's story through the eyes of its own people gave weight to its mission and a voice as substantial as its science. In a category where everyone sounds the same, it made a small company feel unmistakably human.
